Description:
Widening, realignment and reconstruction of the existing 1.85km road to provide for a carriageway incorporating Quality Bus Corridors in both directions, and a major signaled crossroad junction to accommodate the large scale residential and commercial developments being undertaken within the vicinity.
Works Undertaken:
Works included the installation of all public lighting, ESB and Eircom ducting, the construction of all public footpaths, cycle paths, grass verges, new surface water drainage, landscaping, and boundary treatments. Other works also involved the provision of road markings, signage and anti-skid surfaces. The project also included the construction of a new signal controlled junction, a priority cross roads and a signal controlled pedestrian crossing.
Due to the location of the works and the fact that all works were to be carried out adjacent to live traffic, it was essential that a site specific traffic management plan was designed and implemented to cause the least disruption to traffic flow without compromising health and safety of all involved.
Throughout the works constant liaison with the Client, Local Authority, Utility Bodies and Local Residents played a crucial factor in completing the works.
