This project was part of the Department of Education and Science Design and Build plans to provide additional primary schools in rapidly developing areas. In order to achieve school opening in September 2008, a 20 week programme for site development and construction had to be achieved.
The project consisted of site development works for a 16 classroom, two storey building on a site of 0.97 hectares. The ground works commenced simultaneously with the off-site fabrication on the steel frame system, which was completed within a four week period.
Site works to the school grounds included provision of ball courts, project gardens, cycle storage, bin stores, landscaping, boundary treatment and all other associated site development works. The work to the remainder of the site consisted of the provision of 32 car parking spaces, drop-off and pick-up facilities and two temporary access roads approximately 50m long from the Porterstown Road.
Working in close co-operation with the Main Contractor our experienced Project Team completed all works to the highest standards achieving all programme deadlines and delivering the project on budget as per fixed price sum agreed. The successful delivery of this project on time and on budget resulting in securing two further school projects from this valued client.
