K-Klub

Preparation works for the 2006 Ryder Cup which consisted of the construction of an extension to the existing Palmer Course club house, upgrade of the existing car parking facilities, roads, footpaths, services, drainage, ducting, CCTV, flood lighting and hard and soft landscaping throughout the K Club Estate and also the removal and installation of new access bridge to the 18th Green of the prestigious Smurfit Course. Other works carried out were the installation of all new temporary carparks and access roads.

On completion of the event, all areas were to be returned to their original state, involving removing stone hard standings and replacing with topsoil and re-seeding.

Works were carried out on a 24hr basis during the week of the event which catered for a daily attendance of approx. 40,000 members of the public plus a further 5,000 members of the media from all around the world.

Constant liaison with the event organisers, K-Club staff and Garda played an important part in the smooth running of this event.
